"It is much easier to become a father than to be one."
Kent Nerburn, Letters to My Son: Reflections on Becoming a Man
In 2007 The Mommies Network (a 501c(3) non-profit organization) opened The Dads Network - since dads need support too. So while TMN helps connect moms for support and friendship in their local community, TDN helps connect dads. Dads deserve their own community too!
Today TMN has over 70 communities for moms and TDN has six communities for dads:
SaltLakeCityDads.com in Utah
CharlotteAreaDads.com in North Carolina
TriangleAreaDads.com covering the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina
CentralValleyDads.com covering Fresno, Kings and Tulare Counties in California
FrederickDads.com covering Frederick, Montgomery, Washington and Northwestern Carroll Counties in Maryland.
PhoenixAreaDads.com in Arizona
We added a dad to our team of Network Administrators in 2007 to help the dads keep their own identity and support system outside of the moms and we look forward to opening more Dads communities in 2008.
Dads sites have several forums that are different than the moms, but overall the framework and objectives are the same - to provide a safe, secure, FREE place for fathers to find support and encouragement from other fathers and to empower them to be better men, dads and community leaders. |
